GENERAL
What is the DCS Volunteer programme?
The DCS Volunteer programme is a volunteer initiative by Defence Collective Singapore (DCS). It began at Singapore Discovery Centre and has since expanded to Singapore Navy Museum and Singapore Air Force Museum
Why was the DCS Volunteer programme established?
More Singaporeans are finding meaningful ways to contribute their time and skills to causes they care about.
Through DCS Volunteer, DCS and its museums aim to encourage active citizenry by providing a range of volunteering opportunities with different roles and commitment levels. These opportunities are offered through Friends of SDC, Friends of SNM and Friends of SAFM.
How can I sign up as a DCS Volunteer?
Simply complete the registration form below and our team will contact you. Alternatively, you may email us at dcsvolunteer@defencecollectivesg.com. Who is eligible to sign up as a DCS Volunteer?
Anyone who is passionate about contributing to Singapore is welcome to register their interest.
Training will be provided to confirmed volunteers, so you do not need prior content knowledge or experience to perform your role. However, some volunteer roles may have additional eligibility criteria.
Is there a minimum age requirement?
Yes. You must be at least 15 years old to register as a DCS Volunteer.
Volunteer Roles
Can I still sign up if there are no current opportunities that interest me?
Yes. You may register as a DCS Volunteer to receive updates on upcoming volunteering opportunities across our museums.
What is the expected commitment?
Volunteers are encouraged to complete at least 24 hours of volunteering with Defence Collective Singapore within one year of joining.
Will there be more volunteer opportunities in the future?
Yes. We are continually developing new volunteering opportunities for members of the community.
Details will be published on our website when they become available. You may also register your interest using the form above or email us to receive updates on upcoming opportunities.
Am I confirmed as a DCS Volunteer once I register my interest?
No. Registration of interest does not guarantee confirmation as a DCS Volunteer.
As our volunteers perform specific roles and engage visitors in meaningful ways, there will be a selection and matching process. This helps us match each applicant with a suitable volunteering opportunity.
You will be informed if you are successfully selected and confirmed as a DCS Volunteer.
Will training be provided?
Yes. Training will be provided to equip confirmed volunteers with the knowledge and skills required for their respective roles.
