Description of Programme
Appreciation and respect for the cultures, traditions and practices of the different communities is critical in ensuring peace and harmony in multi-religious Singapore. This can only happen if Singaporeans gain understanding of the different faiths practised so that they go beyond tolerance.
Participants will be introduced to a basic understanding of the role religion plays in society and why we should protect the principle of secularism in Singapore. They will learn the basic tenets, philosophy and practices of 4 major world religions and realise the dangers of having misconceptions about other faiths.
Through a virtual tour they will view distinctive architectural features of each place of worship. They will also reflect on the places of worship visited and how the experience contributes towards Social and Psychological Defence.
