Beyond Race - A Diversity and Inclusion Programme (Virtual Experience)

Description of Programme

Singapore prides itself as a harmonious multi-racial society, however this should not be taken for granted. Through this programme, participants will gain an understanding of the origins of Singapore's ethnic diversity and the consequences of changes in the ethnic composition of the population. They will be made aware of the innate and underlying prejudices (mental models) they may have about the other communities.

They will gain a better understanding of the sources of intercommunal tensions and the vital importance of handling these with tact and sensitivity. Participants will also learn how digital platforms can be exploited cynically for socially destructive activities, e.g. dissemination of bigotry and hatred, and terrorism-related ideology and activities.
