Fun on Foot - Exploring Fort Canning to Padang

Description of Programme

Through a fun, competitive game that also builds unit cohesion, learn about the importance of Total Defence, the security and defence of Singapore, and Singapore military history.

Participants will get to play an Amazing Race covering landmarks on historic Fort Canning Hill, and a selection of architectural icons in the Civic District, such as the National Gallery Singapore, Central Fire Station, and the Lim Bo Seng Memorial.

Groups will be given unique routes covering different stops, and answer site-based questions. Through active play, they will achieve key learning objectives.

These objectives include the importance of Fort Canning Hill in the defence and security of Singapore from the 14th century to the present, how Singapore overcame hardships and challenges to attain independence and nationhood, and the need for Commitment to Defence (C2D), the Singapore Armed Forces, and Total Defence even in peacetime.

Highly-trained facilitators will be stationed at some key stops to share commentary and enhance learning.

The programme will conclude with a reflection session to recap and reinforce the lessons learned.
