Description of Programme
This ""Connexion Trail"" tour traces the historical roots of Singapore’s main ethnic groups, highlighting their trials, tribulations, and contributions to early nation-building. Visits to Chinatown, Little India, and Kampong Glam reveal the distinct ethnic enclaves while showcasing the early cooperation, tolerance, and interaction among these communities. This early collaboration laid the foundation for modern Singapore’s multiracial, multilingual, and multicultural society.
We will also discuss the proactive policies implemented over the years to encourage racial integration and prevent racist and xenophobic behavior. By exploring these historical sites and policies, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how Singapore has fostered social cohesion and harmony among its diverse population.
